"The Mind of Christ"
Theme Book: Philippians

"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant..." (Philippians 2.5-7)

Purpose of Theme:

We are Christians because we follow Christ, and so at our very core we are people dedicated to imitating his example. This theme addresses the fundamental need we have if we are to become like Christ: We must have a mind like his (Philippians 2.5). Paul's letter to the Philippians discusses specifically how we develop a Christ-like mind and what that looks like played out in our lives.
